Let's Legalize It

So unless you're new to the blog, live under a rock, or are just in denial, it should not be news to you that we Kings enjoy our fair share of herbal enlightenment. Let it be known Crown City Kings supports all things weed. Especially legalization. Having the luxury of living in the great state of California many friends and family members of ours have already taken measures to get peace of mind by taking advantage of our wonderful Medicinal Marijuana Policy where, with a doctor's recommendation, one can grow, purchase and smoke pot legally with minor limitations. The D.E.A. have now ceased raids on clinics throughout the state thanks to My Nigga Prez. Paying the $80-150 to turn in your title of stoner to patient sounds like a nice bargain. It is. Takes away all the paranoia I'm sure. Now, as for the rest of us lazy pot smokers, purchasing pot from the drug dealer down the street is the most convenient (often inconvenient) choice we make. Sometimes sketchy but always fire.
Well here in 2009 a great assemblyman by the name of Tom Ammiano (D-SF) has introduced a bill which proposes the taxation and regulation of marijuana just like tobacco and alcohol. Marijuana is California's #1 cash crop pulling in a cool $12-18 billion a year. Yes billion. That just about doubles California's #2 cash crops, cream and milk, which pull in a mere $8 billion a year. Cream and Milk ladies and gentlemen. Weed makes more money then Cream and Milk. Time to take charge and start taxing. Don't trip the bill predicts taxes will run about $1 per joint. So if you're already going to the clinic and buying super fat joints for $10 it's the equivalent of buying a dime and getting a blunt. No harm no foul.
On March 31st the Public Safety Committee of California has scheduled a hearing to determine the fate of Assembly Bill 390. Do your part and write to your local representative asking them to support this bill. CA's NORML has already made it easy for you. All you have to do is fill in your information and there's a letter template already there all you have to do is fill in your information. You can even just copy and paste the letter and email them yourself. Either way you need to write your representative. Cali needs this. Not just for the lifestyle but because this economic crisis is ripping us a new one. Do your part.
